Living Stone Christian Academy offers Pre K 3 - 12 grade IN PERSON, AND ONLINE starting in the 3rd grade. However, we offer traditional school classes on campus and in person with the choice to homeschool online too. We are excited to offer diversity to our community and many outstanding families of the RGV.

Pre-K through 6th Grade: Abeka Curriculum

The Abeka curriculum provides a strong foundation in academics, biblical principles, and character development. Each grade level incorporates:

1. Bible Studies:

   ○ Daily Bible stories, scripture memorization, and lessons on Christian living.

   ○ Weekly chapel services.

 

2. Language Arts:

    ○ Phonics, reading, handwriting, grammar, composition, and spelling.

    ○ Literature appropriate for each grade level.

 

3. Mathematics:

    ○ Concepts include arithmetic, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

    ○ Advanced topics introduced incrementally.

 

4. Science:

     ○ Studies on God’s creation with hands-on activities and experiments.

     ○ Earth science, biology, physics, and health (age-appropriate).

5. Social Studies:

    ○ History, geography, civics, and cultural studies with a biblical worldview.

6. Enrichment:

    ○ Art, music, physical education, and computer literacy.

 

7th through 12th Grade: Ignitia Online Curriculum (Alpha and Omega, Modified by Horizon) We have a full operating Jr High and High School in person on campus classes with a teacher and we do offer homeschooling. The great thing is, the choice is yours!

Ignitia provides a flexible, Christ-centered online platform tailored to meet Texas educational standards.

 

1. Core Subjects:

    ○ Bible Studies: Courses in Old Testament, New Testament, apologetics, and Christian          leadership.

    ○ English/Language Arts: Grammar, composition, literature, and research skills.

    ○ Mathematics: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Consumer                  Math.

    ○ Science: Life Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

    ○ Social Studies: Texas History, U.S. History, World History, Government, and                              Economics.

 

2. Electives and Career Readiness:

    ○ Options include Health, Spanish, Computer Applications, Accounting, and Career                Explorations.

    ○ Advanced Placement (AP) or college preparatory courses available.

 

3. Character Development and Life Skills:

    ○ Biblical ethics, communication, leadership, and stewardship.

 

4. Monitoring and Modification:

     ○ Course content is adjusted using Horizon modifications and government-approved            materials to ensure compliance with Texas educational standards.
